Spinal Tap

I watched the rockumentary of Spinal Tap yesterday. I am aware of how old this movie is, but hey, good films die hard. I was sick with a sore throat, and was sipping lots of tea, and watching movies. So anyway, here is what the movie is about.

"Marti DeBergi is a film-maker who decides to make a documentary, a rockumentary actually, about the world's loudest band, the British heavy metal group Spinal Tap. The movie is in fact a biting satire and spoof of the whole rock and roll scene that passes itself off as a real documentary of a real band. Hilarious behind-the-scenes footage is combined with faux-concert clips to breath life into the imaginary group."

I thought is was hilarious. It really wasn't a slapstick type of comedy, but a witty humour about rock in general. I highly recomend it.

David Lynch

I love him. He is a genius. I recently saw his new Gucci ad. I particularly like his commercials, he puts in all of the weirdness of his movies is a one minute segment. If you haven't see the commercial you can view it here. It is genius. I absolutely love David Lynch. He is the modern day Dali. In this commercial, he give you a sense of luxury and vertigo. Both of which go together all too well. The common colour of gold in the commercial, which brings the sense of luxury again. The repeated movements in the flickering of the lights, and the cloth on the television hint in the sense of vertigo. Hands down, I loved it.
